Riichi Yamauchi - Riichi Yamauchi is a professional taiko drummer based in Kyoto - he is the musical director of Matsurishu and part of the Wa San Bon group that visited us in 2008 and 2009.

Groups

Tamashii - Tamashii is an Auckland based taiko group who have the only Odaiko in the country.

Many Hands - A world music group based in Auckland with whom Wai Taiko collaborated in 2003 to produce a unique show called Taikollaboration.

Midnight Taiko - A Canadian group formed by our newest member Ruth Ablett before she emigrated to Hamilton.

Matsurishu - The professional taiko group affiliated with the Kyoto Taiko Centre. One of our esteemed coaches - Riichi Yamauchi is musical director of the group, and Hidenori Yura was also a member.

Tokara Wadaiko Ensemble - The professional taiko group run by Art Lee.

Art Lee - One of the taiko masters in Japan. Michelle participated in his advanced workshops on her Japan trip in 2009.

Taikoz - Professional Taiko group based in Sydney, Australia.

Hide Wadaiko School - One of our favourite coaches, Hidenori Yura visited us in 2009 as part of the Wa San Bon group. He is a Buddhist monk and professional taiko drummer, and runs classes in Japan.

Kodo - Kodo are the most famous taiko group in the world, and are absolutely incredible. We are hoping to see them at Earth Celebration on our Japan trip in 2010!
